Trade mark of Bor felt factory – the figure of a bear represented in the spirit of ornamental motives of the Volga region. As the skin protects this nice animal from an icy cold, and enterprise items urged to serve protection against colds of people, buildings and structures.
The history of Bor felt factory № 6 has begun since 1932 when its first stage has been put into operation. The Bor felt factory was the large mechanised enterprise first in the USSR for felt manufacturing. The first director of under construction factory and simultaneously the chief of department of capital construction had been nominated Peter Andreevich Kokin.
In days of the Great Patriotic War the factory collective actively helped front. Self-denying work of collective of the enterprise in days of war has been deservedly evaluated: to it class places and gifts of money, and also banners of the State Committee of Defense and the people's commissariat of light industry of the USSR and the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions were repeatedly awarded. For the help of Red Army in April, 1943 the factory collective has received an official message of gratitude from the Chairman of the State committee of defence I.V.Stalin.
In February, 1966 by order of Light Industry Ministry of RSFSR for the further perfection of a management by the valjalno-felt enterprises the Gorki production association on the basis of felt factory № 6 has been organised. In May, 1975 it have transformed to Gorki industrial valjalno-felt association with inclusion in its structure of felt factory as headquarters plant, Kanashsky boot-fulling factories, Koverninsky boot-fulling factories, Bor factory fulling footwear, the Arzamas felt factory, Borsky target base. Bor felt factory, being headquarters plant of a regional production association, carried out an industrial and technical management of the enterprises entering into its structure and rendered them the practical help in all directions of activity.
Changes in an economic and public life of the country should affect enterprise position. In October, 1989 the Bor felt factory has been transformed to rent production, and on August, 30th, 1996 on the basis of administrative decree of Borsky area the enterprise has been registered as Open Joint-stock company “Bor felt factory”.
During the post reorganization period the enterprise has been forced to stop production, but since 1998 of Open Joint-stock company “Bor felt factory” works in a total power. The collective of Bor felt factory managed to cope with difficulties. The Bor felt factory has returned itself an item of the leader.
For years of the development the factory has grown and became leading enterprise of the valjalno-felt industry of Russia. Here for the first time production carding felt has been run in, the new "know-how" of technical felts and felt details from them is developed and put in production, it has been caused by mechanical engineering rapid growth in our country. The list of affairs and novations with a word "for the first time" are extensive: for the first time the semi-automatic line in prigotovitelno-combing shop has been produced and mounted, for the first time run in felt cylinders (monshon) for the paper industry, felt polishing circles for the glass industry for the first time is run in.
In modern conditions the factory has managed to orient on today's consumers, to run in new kinds of production which are in demand.
Today Open Joint-stock company “Bor felt factory”successful enough, competitive enterprise known not only on Russian, but also on offshore markets. Territorially customers of Open Joint-stock company “Bor felt factory” place across all Russia, in the CIS and Baltic countries.
The turned out base of clients of Open Joint-stock company “Bor felt factory” includes about 1500 industrial enterprises, firms, the organisations, individual businessmen. Overwhelming majority of customers – industrial enterprises. With many of them there were stable long-term business relations. The factory long time successfully co-operates with Open type joint stock society "AMZ", THE FEDERAL STATE UNITARY ENTERPRISE «The Perm factory of name S.M. Kirov», «the Ural factory of the mountain equipment», «The Uhlan-Udensky aircraft factory», Public Joint-Stock Company «AVTOVAZ», Public Joint Stock Company "Zavolzhsky Engine Plant" and others.
For attraction of new consumers and expansion of seller's markets of production of Open Joint-stock company “Bor felt factory” participates in large textile expositions, specialised exhibitions of professional clothes and footwear, industrial exhibitions. Annually is present at the All-Russia exhibition of the goods and the equipment textile and light industry, and also exhibits the production on industry show in Belarus and Ukraine.
